New to it ALL

Postby mj0923 » Thu Jan 07, 2010 2:51 pm

I have downloaded the files and loaded them onto my SD card, loaded it into the Wii, followed the instructions to a T but during the parts to install (i'm assuming channels) it just makes the remote go black and I have to manually power off the maching and go back into the Homebrew Channel. Any clues on this issue? thanks!

Welcome! What part are you on? You don't have the channels because you're not finished with the guide. Let me know what part you are having issues with and what errors. You are connected via Wi-Fi?

4] Run cIOS 222/223 installer v4
Choose IOS 249 for installation.
Install Custom IOS 202 and select IOS38 merged with IOS60.
Restart and install Custom IOS 222 and select IOS38.
Restart and install Custom IOS 223 and select IOS38 merged with IOS37.

5] Run Wad Manager
When it opens choose use IOS249. (it is probably already set to that)
Press A to leave NAND emulator disabled
Press A to open from SD slot.
Install IOS70-64-v6687 [Patched][FreeTheBug].wad
Install NeoGamma_R7.wad (For Disc backups)
Install USBLoaderCFG v40-UCBF.wad (For USB configurable Loader - Rated #1)

When I change it to IOS249 and press A it turns the remote black and locks up. I wasn't connected to Wi-Fi at the time I was doing this. I'm going to sound backwoods here but we still have dial up at the house so I have been bringing it into work for the Wi-Fi upgrade. I can do it all here if i need to be connected though.

You need to get hermes done first. You need to be connected wifi. Wad manager will not work until you get the others installed. I would suggest get connected Wi-FI and start all over. You most likely missed important files. Also print out the section guide and follow it step by step. I've done 100's with this method and no brick.

It worked like a charm once I was hooked up to Wi-Fi. Now i just need to get some software for the covers of the games. Any help there would be appreciated! Thanks again for all the help.

The usb loader will download them automatically from the internet.

I do not use the one included in the pack so unfortunately I can't tell you how

I'm using the USBloader to may my backup but it isn't making any covers for the games. Do you have to load it off of the SD everytime or can you create a channel for it?
